Texas Instruments Donations
The pie chart is better at representing the donations made by Texas Instruments. This is because you are able to see all of the donations large and small. It is a cleaner look and allows you to see the smaller amounts better.
National Endowment for the Arts
a) If nonprofit arts organizations reported total income of $23 billion in 2004, what dollar amount came from corporations? Provide a brief explanation for your calculation.
According to the pie chart only 3% of donations came from various corporations, that is 3% of the total 43% of private income. That 3% is 690 million dollars when you take the 3% from 23 billion.
b) Total income for nonprofit arts organizations dropped to $13.5 billion by 2010. If the proportions of funding represented in the pie chart above remained the same in 2010, what dollar amount of total income came from Federal funding? What dollar amount of total income came from Individuals?
At 13.5 billion if the federal government still supplies 9% of the funding they would have donated would be $1,215,000,000. The individual would be 31% of donations and that would be $4,185,000,000.
