Ever since Juan was a little boy he would see all the little girls dressed up as princesses and wondered why his mother would not let him dress up like that, but he wouldn’t dare to ask her. Juan was a varsity athlete at Miami Sunset Senior High; baseball was his passion, according to his mother.

Every day after practice he would rush home and never stay to hang out with his team mates. They all wondered what was going on because he always left and never really told them what is going on.

One day while Juan’s mom, Maria, was not home yet he sneaked into her room and put on her skirt and heels as well as some of her make up while telling himself he looks so pretty. Juan loved to dress up every day until one day Juan’s mother decided to take the day off and come home early to surprise Juan with baseball tickets of his favorite team, but to her surprise she walks in the room and Juan is dressed up like a girl, rehearsing some lines of his favorite play.

Maria was really shocked that her boy was dressed up like a girl and got really upset and punished him. His grandma being the sweetheart she is tells him it is okay to feel this way and if it’s the way you feel, you should do what you have to do to pursue your dreams.

The days that followed were full of continuous reminders of the open audition. He saw signs and posters all over school at bus stops and all over Facebook. Then he got a phone call from his grandmother telling him they are holding auditions for the play, and that he should go. Juan knows that his grandmother is always right and she does things because she cares, so he decided to call to sign up.

Weeks go by and they called him for an audition, he is super stoked. Juan calls his grandmother,
