SUBJECT: FIELD TRIP TO INVESTIGATE PEOPLE’S LIVING STANDARDS, NOVEMBER 10, 2014
I am happy to investigate the people’s living standards in Kamloops on November 10, 2014. This field-trip will be a good opportunity for me to connect the economics course with the real life to understand my current program deeply. This report examines the people’s living standards in Kamloops, which is close to us, and the living standard is an important point to measure citizens’ well-being rating, so the investigation is important. We will investigate the people’s living standards by investigating in Superstore, Thompson Rivers University and British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
Potential Field-trip Destinations
There are many places that we can go for the program in which we are currently enrolled. I suggest three of the potential field-trip destinations:
Business – Superstore
Superstore is one of the biggest supermarkets in Kamloops; it is close to people’s daily life. If we investigate in superstore, we will get the targeted information about people’s living standards in terms of daily consumption.
Venue accommodation. We will meet in the managers’ office.
Time allocation. From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on November 10.
Resources allocation. Two members meet with sales manager to learn about the market situation in Kamloops, and other members meet with the people who stock for the superstore to collect information about what people need for daily life in Kamloops.

Special arrangements. If there is any member who is living far away from Superstore, we will give him or her a free ride.
Expenses. There is no charge for the trip.
Purpose and educational value. Through talking with the sales manager and the people who stock for the superstore, we can know the quantity of the sales and people’s requirements so that we can learn about the consumption level of the people in Kamloops and the people’s living standards as well.
Government agency -- Thompson Rivers University
Thompson Rivers University is the only university in Kamloops, so it is representative of people’s education in Kamloops. We investigate in TRU to get the information about people’s education consumption.
