The primary purpose of this essay is to determine the strategic challenges faced by the telecommunications trends industry in Asia Pacific region. First of all, we will discuss and present researches and findings related to the most significant strategic challenges facing by the telecommunications industry in Asia Pacific region in 2015. Besides that, examples and hard data from websites, books and electronic journal articles will be provided to support and justify the statements. In this essay, we provide evaluation and assessment of the strategic challenges from ethical and global perspectives in order to have a better understanding on the current issues facing by the industry. Strategic planning is critical and vital to business success. In this essay, we will also provide the strategic planning as a respond to the challenges determined. We believe that great understanding to the industry leads to a better winning strategic planning.

        Research outlook shows that total mobile subscriptions are expected to grow from 6.8billion in Q1 2014 to 9.2 billion by the end of 2019. Thus, it explains that the usage of the internet connection is growing rapidly (Ericsson, 2014).In global perspectives, most mobile network operators (MNOs’) view Wi-Fi as critical to customer satisfaction and retention. Wi-Fi plays an important role in mobile networks operators’ approaches to traffic management and improving customer satisfaction. This indicates that the options of monetizing of Wi-Fi are becoming clearer. However, monetizing Wi-Fi services has been quite difficult (Nicoll, 2013).Meanwhile, Wi-Fi continues to be a popular wireless service in Asia pacific and Wireless being one of the largest and most creative segment of telecom market will show significant changes in 2015.Due to the heavy Wi-Fi traffic, moral and ethics issues of stealing Wi-Fi connections arise. According to the company’s study which was conducted on behalf of The Times in the UK, shows that 54 percent of the respondents have gone Wi-Fi freeloading. For certain places, accessing an unsecured Wi-Fi network without authority are illegal in some country (Bangeman, 2008).However, the issue is going to come to an end as more and more consumer electronic devices are Wi-Fi enabled. Therefore, we can foresee the trends of using Wi-Fi in our daily become clearer.

        Wireless network operators will face the challenge of providing more connections quality, bandwidths, capacity and enhance the network security to the multiple devices without increasing the end-user expenses. The key to meet this challenge successfully in 2015 is to increase the Wi-Fi efficiency. Operators can launch process of modernization by upgrading their services to 4G LTE and improve the infrastructure of the Wi-Fi network station (TelecoDays, 2015). For example, a telecommunication company can make analysis and assessment on the risk and cost before introducing 4G LTE services. After that, Operators can generate or formulate a plan before implementing the 4G LTE technology. Operators can implement the plan and provide LTE services to their customers to increase the speeds and capacity of wireless data networks compared to the previous 3G technology. Operators need to constantly measure and evaluate to keep the plan on track. It will show significant improvement on the speed, quality and coverage of the Wi-Fi. LTE will drive the telecommunication industry in the future (Singhania, Ravindran and Huang, 2015) and we believe that by adopting the 4G LTE technology it will also improve the margin revenue of the company.
