First Day at Placement-20/10/14

I enjoyed my first day at placement, i worked with class four at Wrockadine Woods Infant School.

At placement, i communicated well with all staff and children,firstly, when i arrived, i was introduced to class fours teacher. She was very welcoming and friendly.

As i was slightly early to placement, i had the chance to familiarized myself to the classroom and then patiently waited for the students to arrive. As soon as the children entered the classroom was pleased to see that they all seemed very keen to start the day.My thoughts on the communication between the teachers and the children are that it is very good and effective.The teachers show the ability to speak kindly yet effectively to children with whatever they say.

My role in the class was to support children and to participate in some activities so i can briefly see what these students do on a day-to-day basis.The skills i used in class four today included, using my own initiative, being tolerant, showing patience and tact working with those who may lack confidence, motivate and encourage learners to continue with their studies and finally showing the ability to get on well with everyone and treating all students equally.

I think the teachers worked very well to get the job done in class four.They showed some great teaching skills as well as using effective communication. As their are normally two people in class four, this includes the class teacher and the teaching assistant, the way the work is shared out within the team is by giving each other support and using effective communication towards each other. The.The class teacher normally does the teaching and the teaching assistant helps out greatly by doing things like listening to students read, doing activities with the children and much more things.

Care value base is very important and i feel that it was used in my class. Care, compassion, courage, commitment, confidence and competence are six very important skills that all professionals need to have. The teachers in class four show their care for the children, firstly i noticed that the teachers actively listened to the students and they asked students for their feedback. The teacher had also shown her compassion for a student in the class when he had hurt himself. The teacher had also shown courage in the classroom, because she did seem quite confused about
