Exploitation on the Internet

Some of the various types of exploitation that occurs over the internet are cyber bullying, sexual predators, damaged reputations and pornography and many more.

The main target for internet exploitation crimes are mostly children and women, even though, as will be noted below, women stalking men via the internet is not all that uncommon. The inter sex predators victimize people by enticing them through online contact just for the purpose of engaging them in some type of sexual acts; by using the internet for the production, manufacture, and distribution of child or other sexually deviant pornography; strictly by using the internet to expose young youth to child pornography and encouraging them to exchange pornography; and by enticing and exploiting women and children for the purpose of sexual tourism, which mean to travel with the intent to engage in sexual behavior for commercial gain and/or personal gratification. There are women who are targeted by online predators and other criminals. There are plenty who argue that pornography is a victimization or objectification of women. Women are frequently the targets of physical stalkers and are at greater risk of being the victim of a cyber stalker. Women report felling higher levels of violation as the result of being stalked, threatened, or harassed online. Which certain factors make some groups more vulnerable than others to online victimization. Regular use and access to a computer with internet capability is necessary to being victimized. Sooner or later you will see something on the internet that is pornographic and in many cases it might be by mistake, but it’s there. Older children are at a greater risk and more likely to engage in online discussions of a personal nature (Taylor, R., Fritsch, E., Liederbach, J., Holt, T., 2011).
