Administrative Interview

The person that I interviewed was my hospital Manager, Tracy Bradley.  Tracy has been a nurse for 15+ years and has been the manager for Gastroenterology Department for the past 5 years.  She received her BSN from St. Mary’s University in 1995.  She was worked throughout the hospital system that gave her much valuable knowledge in every department.  She slowly got promoted as a Charge Nurse of her department until she was highly recommended to become the PCC, Patient Care Coordinator, of the Gastroenterology Department in 2011.  Her job is to oversee the daily operations of the department to include fiscal management, communicating with supervisors, mentoring and coaching staff to ensure that they are following the set guidelines to provided and set forth by the hospital.

University Health Systems is a non-profit hospital that stands for the promoting good health of the community by providing the highest quality of care to both inpatient and outpatient by teaching the next generation of health professionals and by supporting research thereby advancing medical knowledge and improving the delivery of patient care (Mission, Vision & Value, 2016).  One thing that I admire about my supervisor is that she honors the mission, vision and values of the organization.  Our vision is to continuously improve the health and well-being of the people of Bexar County, South Texas.  Tracy always puts patients first, believes in working as a team, and she does everything with respect, dignity, sensitivity and trust along with educating and constant research that we do every day.  All these values are what help her make the decisions that she makes on a daily basis that are always in the best interest of the patient, staff and organization.
