Procedure:

During this experiment, it is necessary that one uses safety goggles, and continues to wear them throughout the experiment of mixing chemicals. To start off one will be mixing the Auxiliary Dilutions. One will place 10 drops of Distilled Water into well A1, of the 24 place Well Plate. Next place the contents of the Hydrochloric Acid (HCI) pipet to the well A1, and stir with the toothpick. Next, suck up the continents of A1 to the pipet labeled Hydrochloric Acid (HCI). Place the Pipet in well A1 to stand while continuing the experiment.

Next, Place 10 drops of Distilled water into well B1, of the 24 place Well Plate. Add the continents of the pipet labeled Aqueous Ammonia (NH4OH), to the well B1 already containing 10 drops of Distilled water. Stir the two ingredients together, and then suck up the continents of B1 into the pipet labeled Aqueous Ammonia (NH4OH). Place the pipet in well B2 for storage while mixing other chemicals.

After placing 10 drops of Distilled water into well C1, of the 24 place Well Plate, empty out the contents of the Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) to the well C1. Mix together the ingredients of well C1 with the wooden toothpick. Once the contents of well C1 are completely mixed, suck the ingredients up into the pipet labeled Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), and then place the pipet upside down in well C1.

Take the 96 place Well plate and place 2 drops of the Hydrochloric Acid into well B1. Next take the Bromothymol Blue (BTB) and add 2 drops to the Clear HCI. The two chemicals mixed together changed to a clear bright orange color. As the Second drop of BTB hit the HCI the Blue BTB dissolved into the orange, leaving trails like oil on water, and then quickly disappeared into the orange. Take the Well plate and place it on a sheet of white paper. Looking through the well B1 the color of the two chemicals is a clear fluorescent orange. Next take the 96 place well plate and place it over a piece of Black paper, looking down through well B1 the color of orange changes one shade darker than the original.

In well C1 of the 96 place well plate, put 2 drops of the Aqueous Ammonia (NH4OH). Place one drop of the BTB into the Ammonia. The color of the BTB, which is a dark blue, gets diluted, changing the color a shade lighter than the original color. Place the 96 place well plate over the sheet of white paper, peering down through the well C1 the color of the solution is a clear blue. Next, take the well plate and place it on a sheet of black paper. When looking down well C1 the color of the blue changes to a dark midnight blue.

Next in well D1, add two drops of Hydrochloric Acid. Next add 2 drops of blue dye to the Hydrochloric Acid. Instantly when the blue dye is added to the HCl, the color of the two chemicals turns Christmas tree green. Next place the 96 place well plate over the white sheet of paper, and looked down through well D1, the color stayed the same as
