Religion in the United States

Freedom of religion in the United States serves as a great freedom for the people. Thomas Jefferson wanted to ensure that the government could no longer have any say in religion or impose religion on its citizens. According to article 18, people have the right to change his religion or belief at any time with nobody interfering. Every person also has their own right to the privacy of their belief and to express their beliefs while teaching, worship, and practice.

I think Freedom of Religion is a very good thing and that anyone should be able to believe in what they want to believe. There are many different opinions out there about how the Earth got created and where everyone will go after they pass away. People should be able to believe in what they really think will happen and what higher being to believe in. Freedom of religion is a very good way to make this happen by stating that the people of the United States can practice, teach, and worship what they want and who they want.

If the people don't realize what Freedom of Religion is it can be taken away from our people without them even knowing it. It is our civil right to accept or reject any religious idea, and we can do so openly and loudly. Pluralism is the drive to get along with each other despite our religious views. The pre-evolutionary war was intolerant to people with other religious views. Each colony had a church that was supported by tax money. Failure to attend resulted in breaking the law and was not accepted. The first amendment specifies two things in Freedom of Religion, that the government must not promote the establishment of religion or prohibit its free exercise.
