Apollo 13

Apollo 13 was a tragedy waiting to happen! This term of event caused the crew the loss of not landing on the moon much as well as other side effects of this accident such as, the crew becoming cold and sick, and them not knowing whether or not they were going to get home due to the condition of the Odyssey. Fate and destiny were in their hands, and failure wasn’t an option!

Jim Lovell once said “Houston we have a problem.” Which means the primary problem in Apollo 13 was a piece of equipment broke on the Odyssey causing the oxygen to vent out into space and the power to be lost. They were desperately trying to arrange a series of steps to reach a goal which was to get them home. Fate and destiny were going to get these astronauts home, because they never lost astronauts in space and they sure in the heck weren’t going to lose any now!

Gene Kranz once said” Failure is not an option!” This means he was going to do anything he had to do to get these guys home. He would take as many sacrifices that he had to. He wasn’t going to give up just like they would if he was in that situation. Kranz wasn’t going to let panicking bring him down. Yes, bad thing happen for a reason, but failure wasn’t one of them! He was never going to give up on finding a solution to this problem. Gene Kranz had spent days without any sleep that’s how much hard work and dedication he had in himself to get these guys home! Out of all the controllers Gene Kranz was the guy whom worked harder than anybody else. Fate and destiny were in his hands, and they weren’t going to let him down!

Two days before the mission Ken Mattingly was replaced with John Swigert. The doctors were afraid that he was going to develop the German measles while on the moon. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen! So when this awful event took place Mattingly was there to help. Ken was their
