A farmers’ market is a place where you can buy a food directly from the farmers. There are always a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables, baking products and etc. There are outdoor and indoor markets. In Chicago on summer there are more outside markets and on winter there are only inside ones. On one weekend some of my classmates and I went to one of them. It was a first time when I went to winter farmers’ market. It was on Saturday about 9 a.m. That market was in the building of one local nature museum. And she said that they prefer independence of selling directly to consumers.
The second person with whom did we talk was a baker. The name of his company is Plain Old Granola. He has this business with his wife. It was interesting to meet him because he knows so much about Kendall College and knows some chefs. So he helped us with pleasure. He told us that they have a contact with some chefs and bakeries and that they do some parties. They not only use a farmers’ market to sell their products, but also they have their own location. And they work the most with the farmers to get the ingredients.
