With short blonde hair, Idgie is a bit of a tomboy who has a knack for gambling and fishing. She has a need for her own independence and freedom, but unfortunately this sometimes a take a toll on the people who are closest to her, but despite this they continue to support her. Idgie is a skilled communicator who falls in love with Ruth. Ruth Jamison is best known for her sweet personality and fascinating beauty. She teaches Vacation Bible School in Alabama while staying with the Threadgoodes. She falls in love with Idgie and keeps her steady before she has to separate with her and to move back to Georgia (she moves out of town in the film instead) to marry Frank
