Throughout the history of our country, we have had many presidents and with each presidency come their supporters. The Jacksonian Democrats were no doubt the group of supporters that stands out the most in my eyes. They believed themselves to be these great and wonderful people that were supporting a man that was making the future of the United States into a great one. Taking what he learned from Jefferson, Andrew Jackson had the possibility to be a great leader and in some aspects he was, but in others I believe that he failed at some part of his job. From the 1820's to the 1830's the Jacksonian Democrats weren't necessarily 100% accurate with how they perceived themselves. Although their accuracy was a little off, they were still somewhat perceived as the guardians of the United States Constitution, political democracy, individual liberty and the equality of economic growth. There are many ways that a person can view this topic and the way I see it, the Jacksonian Democrats weren't exactly what they believed themselves to be.

When it came to the constitution, there were two kinds of people. People that were very loose about it and people that were very strict about following everything that's within the constitution. Looking at the Jacksonians, they were mainly pretty strict when it came to the constitution. As we see in Document A, president Jackson is protecting and advocating for the working class. I believe that this document shows a sense of overall, wanting to protect the rights stated in the Constitution so that he can make a step in the right direction for the United States. Looking a little closer at Andrew Jackson, he wants to point his attention at the working class and "common" class. The rich and high class has, up until now, been protected and everyone else has been left for fin for themselves when it came to protecting their constitutional rights. Reviewing Document D, a sense of almost perfect was given off from the way the man was describing things. Although this society wasn't anywhere near perfection, this was the way this man saw the US compared to his country. This shows that Jackson was good at protecting the rights of everyone, minus the slaves, so that the overall well being of the country would be better off and also better than other countries.

Andrew Jackson was a great leader, but he did have flaws in some of his actions during his presidency. The Jacksonian democrats saw themselves as the guardians of the political democracy, but some of the things they believed in weren't very guardian like. As a Jacksonian Democrat, they would enforce things such as the spoil system that Jackson put into place. This was the big flaw of what they saw themselves as. The spoil system wasn't promoting the good of the whole it was favoring rich and great
