JFK Assassination
On November 22, 1963, one of the greatest American tragedies occurred. It was the assassination of the President of the United States, John F. Kennedy. The assassination took place in Dallas, Texas during a parade of some sort. It was caught on camera and the supposed assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was found but murdered 2 days later by Jack Ruby before he could be tried. This event was catastrophic and affected every american in some way, especially much of the African American population due to the fact that JFK was fighting strongly for black rights in the U.S..
The day of the assassination JFK was in Dallas, Texas campaigning. JFK knew that a feud of party leaders in Texas could hurt his chances of carrying the state in 1964, and one of his goals for the trip was to bring Democrats together. So he decided to travel to Texas and Florida with his wife Jacqueline Kennedy. Around 12:00 p.m. JFK and his wife were driving the streets of Dallas in a parade when Kennedy was shot three times in total, one to the chest, and two fatal shots to the head (THE TRUTH BEHIND JFK'S ASSASSINATION).. After he was shot, his wife Jacqueline climbed out the back of the car and grabbed parts of his head attempting to put them back on and help her husband. The death of JFK wasn’t the only death that day, when Lee Harvey Oswald fled the scene an officer approached him due to suspicion, Oswald then murdered the officer too. 2 days later Jack Ruby murdered Oswald before he could be tried for murder. Many say he murdered him to silence him and not expose an underground mafia or secret organization but many others say it was because he was angry at Oswald for killing JFK.
