INTERVIEW Questions

CALLUM

  1. Why do you think gender inequality exists in football?
  • Gender inequality exists in football for a variety of reasons.
  • Entertainment factor- simply put, men’s football is much faster, stronger and much more technical than their female counterparts. This creates a much more well rounded and entertaining spectacle for supporters. Compared to elite womens football which is still of a high quality, men are biologically better athletes than women. Womens football is objectively a lot slower than male football, leading to less entertainment and less overall support. For example, the Australian women’s football team (Matildas) were beaten 3-1 by the u15’s NSW state team in 2013.

  1. Why do you think males and females are payed differently for playing the same sport?
  • Entertainment. Overall, spectators wish to be entertained. female  football is a lot slower than male football. Spectators love the fast paced action of football and men provide this more than females. This generates more fans going to games watching males, more spectators watching male football on television, more sponsorships, more shirt sales, the list goes on. Mens football generates far more money then female football does and they are paid accordingly.
  1. Do you believe they should be payed equally? WHY/WHY NOT?

No. male football generates more income than female football due to it being far more entertaining. If female football was as entertaining as male football and female footballers could compete with male footballers, then they should be paid equally. Until then, male footballers will continue to be paid more than female footballers, and rightly so.

APRIL

  1. Why do you think gender inequality exists in football?
  • Well gender equality exists everywhere else why wouldn’t it exist in Football? Sport is considered a ‘mans game’ but that is mostly the opinion of men, maybe it is intimidating to believe that females can possess the same skill as a male. Men are weak and dumb and egotistical. Valar Morghulis
  1. Why do you think males and females are payed differently for playing the same sport?
  • Because sport is organised and run by men (funny how they got those jobs because other men hired them..) and men are extremely egotistical and fragile. To have a women competing in the same competition with equal pay would not make the sport ‘manly’ anymore. And god forbid that they injure their precious masiliclinity. Lots of the money come from the sponsors and they will only sponser a player if the media are focused on them. The media always cover the men’s game and the mens players. The female players are always a side show where their game isn’t getting as much coverage meaning less money meaning less pay.
  1. Do you believe they should be payed equally? WHY/WHY NOT?
  • OF COURSE! If they share the same bloody skill then why the hell not? Just because female soccer players don’t have a penis doesn’t mean that they should be payed less for doing the exact same thing.

I think my sister and Miss Makis would get along well. PS sorry…
