Effective communication skills are fundamental in many aspects of one’s life. It is an important source for one’s development in professional and personal life as they are the skills we use every day in our life to communicate and interact with people around us. People who have good interpersonal skills are very successful in their professional as well as personal lives. I always used to align the word “Communication” with stating facts where one is supposed to listen and then respond to the questions by offering a solution but I think it is more than that. It is all about building trust, being assertive, Managing Inflections, exerting authority etc. I have decided to improve on my Interpersonal Communication skills by working on 3 main goals/priorities. By improving these priorities I hope to communication by messages to people around me in a very efficient manner. I gathered feedback from friends, colleagues and classmates to decide on priorities which I need to focus on going forward. For the feedback process, I approached 5 people, 3 from my work environment and 2 from non-professional setup.

 Priorities

Based on the feedback sessions I decided my 3 main priorities for improving interpersonal communication skills with other people should be Building trust, Empathize and Being assertive.
