The crisis was written by Thomas Pain, Thomas was born on January 29, 1737, in England. He was a revolutionary writer, he mainly stress the importance to contributing to the fight.

The crisis was made December 23, 1776 in North America . at this time Thomas Paine was in America, during the revolutionary war . this effects the meaning of the text because its written to the Americans for motivation , and it greatly talked down the British.

Before reading this I knew that the doing poorly in the war, they were low on supplies, a lot of the soldiers were sick or injured. The crisis was written to inspire and give them hope. And it doesn’t help that they are fighting against the strongest military in the world at the time.

The crisis was meant for the people of America mainly the soldiers fighting the British in the revolutionary war. Because it was meant for American troops and people of the time makes it hard for us to completely understand the meaning because we are not living through that time and the events that occurring. This source could be reliable because it states facts about the revolutionary war and the reason for fighting it. But it could also be a source you wouldn’t want to use for a paper because Paine is writing about how bad the British.

This source was made to bring hope to the struggleing American soldiers fighting in the war. It is used to mentally give the soldiers the will to fight and the belife that they can win this war even thought the odds are highly against them.

The main idea is that there is alit to fight for. And even though you might be out numbered or ill equipped, there is always hope. And also to fight for what you belivie in and not to give up.
