The Grapes of Wrath

The movie "The Grapes of Wrath takes place in the late 1930's during the Great Depression. During that time there were a lot of families that were torn inside and out physically and emotionally. One of those families was the Joad Family. They were left homeless and the government had taken away their land. They were forced out on the streets and in order to survive, they had to go on a hunt for work just so they could get food and water.

The Joad Family had owned a decent amount of land in Oklahoma for several generations and all of a sudden they have lost their home and land and kicked out on the streets. Every member of that family had big dreams of a good high paying job. Now the family is haven to move to a whole different state and start from the beginning.

During their journey to California which is where they are starting their new lives, they come across big dips and bumpy roads. The family deals with horrible deaths and the job opportunities they thought would come easy were not. Nothing was going right or starting off on the right foot. They had come across these campsites so they decided to stay there for the time being. These campsites for owned and monitored by the police. The men of the families were starving so they decided to go out and look for food while everyone else stayed behind.

The Great Depression made everyone in "The Grapes of Wrath" really open their eyes to see what it was living through that horrible time period.
