In this chapter of the video (The presidents), mainly five presidents are handled and introduced. In this era, many crises had to be overcome by the entire country such as Great Depression, World War I and II, and political fight between democrats and republicans.
In 1912, the battle of presidency was sometimes called as the battle between heavy weights. Historians say that this election was the most great presidential election ever had. William Howard, William Taft, and also Theodore Roosevelt ran for their presidency. However, Woodrow Wilson became a president with 41.8 % electoral votes.
Woodrow Wilson, Democrat from New Jersey. He occupied secure position. Until this time, he was the first president who earned academic Ph. D degree. He had first wife and second wife as well. Many people describe him as very principled person. He was good at decision-making and speechmaking. He sought new freedom and created Federal Reserve System. During his presidency, he had to face his first wife’s death during the World War I. Because of the sink of British ship by Germany, Wilson declared War towards Germany. His main goal of participation in war was the vision for the peace. After his first time, popular trend of politics became much conservative because of the tiredness of war and progressive plans.
Warren. G. Harding, first president who was elected on his birthday from Ohio. He had a wife but no child. He was extrovert, gambler, and also womanizer. However, he stabilized the nation by accomplishing Budget and Accounting act. In 1923, he was died by heart attack during the trip to Alaska. After His death, several scandals stroke whole nation such as oil reserve exchange and the rumor that his wife poisoned him.
