Charlie Chaplin the man who is famous for his black hat and toothbrush mustache began his career at age 14. Since then he has become one of the most famous silent comedians. He even continued to make movies till 1976. Chaplin helped American laugh while it was at war. Even after he still made America laugh and for a very long time too. He didn't make just America laugh though Chaplin traveled all over the world.

Charlie Chaplin became very famous for his silent films and comedy. His mine, slapstick, and visual comedy became very popular. The Kid Auto Races at Venice which was released on February 7, 1914 was when The Tramp made his first appearance. The Tramp is one of Chaplin's most famous characters. Chaplin continued his career with the new type of movie called “Talkies”. He was influenced by French silent film comedian Max Linder. He even dedicated a film to him.

Charlie Chaplin was born in Walworth, London. He was born on 16 April 1889. Chaplin died on December 25, 1977. Charlie Chaplin lived In many different places. He was born in London, lived in New York, California, Essanay, Mutual and Switzerland. He finally settled down in Switzerland. Chaplin went to schools in Hercules Road, Kennington Road ans Sancroft Road in Lambeth, South London.

There are several strange things about Charlie Chaplin. Charlie Chaplin's body was stolen to blackmail his family for money. After his body was recovered he was buried in a vault with cement so this would not happen again. Charlie Chaplin never became a U.S. Citizen. He was exiled from the U.S. In 1953 because he refused American citizenship. He was the first actor to appear on Time magazine.

I think Charlie Chaplin was a very good person. I think he changed American society for the good just by being funny and making people laugh.
