Fatimah's Childhood
Khadijah bint khuwaylid wife of prophet Muhammad (S) gave birth to Sayyidah Fatimah Zahra. Khadijah gave birth to Fatimah when the holy Prophet was 35 years of age. She was the youngest in the family. By nature she was very virtuous and dignified. Day and night she would spend in the worship of her Lord and recite the Holy Quran. Fatimah was barely 15 when her mother passed away. After Khadijah died the prophet gave his special attention, education, and spiritual grooming to Fatimah. She was a perfect living example of the prophet's beautiful manners, in her talk and in her smiles. Her every action resembled her father the Messenger of Allah. She was mild tempered, sober, independent, noble minded, sophisticated, honest, true to her word and she was very merciful to the poor. Her heart was remindful for the love of her lord. His praise and glorification had softened her heart.
2. Fatimah's services to the prophet
All through her life she faithfully served her humble father. She was so respectful to her father, that she was totally unaware of herself. Once, some Abu Jahl and his companions had placed camel intestines on the neck of the Prophet while he was prostrating. Clapping with joy, someone told Fatimah about this and she came running immediately. She took off the camel intestines and threw them away. Fatimah willingly risked her body to protect her father, the Prophet Muhammad (S) in battles.
3. Fatimah's participation in the Battles
In the battlefield of Uhad when the prophet lost two of his teeth and his cheek was injured Fatimah immediately went to the battlefield to her father. She washed away the blood from his body, and then she burned a mat and placed the ashes on the wound to stop the flow of blood. And also, in the Battle of Trench she was with the Holy Prophet. Allah's most Noble Messenger had not eaten anything for several days, so she provided him with bread. Fatimah also pitched her father's tent, arranged some water for a bath, so that the prophet could refresh himself after long journeys and could change his clothes before he entered the Masjid.
4. Prophet's love toward Fatimah
Messenger of Allah said, "Whatever annoys Fatimah annoys Allah, and whatever pleases Fatimah pleases Allah. Fatimah is a part of me. Her happiness is my happiness and her pleasure is my pleasure." When Fatima came to visit her father he would get up for her and kiss her hands out of love for her, then he would make her sit in his place.
