- The domain of the equation f(x) = 128 * in interval notation [0, 10], inequality [0 ≤ x ≤ 10], and set builder is {X ε ℝ | 0 ≤ x ≤ 10 }. [pic 1]
The range in interval notation [0,128], inequality [0 ≤ x ≤ 128], and set builder is {Y ε ℝ| 0 ≤y ≤128 }.
The test subject is given an allergy pill containing 128 milligrams (a.k.a the y-intercept on our graph) on the first day ( 0 on our graph) in order to get prescription medicine out of her system. On the tenth day of taking these pills the amount of substance in the test subject's system is considered negligible. The reason why we don’t have any negatives shown in the domain or function is because it’s impossible to have a negative amount of days or pills.
- The data is decreasing because the test subject started with a certain amount of pills to reduce the amount of excess medication in her system after taking prescription pills.
- The coordinate point (1, 64) is used to represent when the test subject initially takes their first allergy pill. After taking the pill 64 milligrams still remain in the test subject's system.
- After three days, approximately 16 milligrams of medicine still remain in the test subject's system because 128 is reduced by half every time a pill is taken.
- On the tenth day of taking allergy pills the amount of substance in the test subject's system is considered negligible because there is only 0.125 milligrams left.
- Since the parent function of this data is rational, the amount of pills in the test subject's system never fully reaches zero.
