Dear Jen Boettcher:
The reason why I am writing is to get my foot through the door of the real world. The specific position I am applying to is for the Finance Department. I am interested in this position because it would allow me to use what I’ve learned from my finance classes and be able to apply them in a practical environment. I noticed on zagmail that there was an opening, so I wanted the opportunity to apply to it. What really drew me towards Avista was the mission statement located on the Avista utilities website: “implementing Avista’s core values of trust, integrity, honesty and collaboration to best serve our employees, customers and community.” This objective really caught my eye because collaboration with a team helps assess what are the best possible outcomes for the client and how to find them. My previous job experience has allowed me to be able to handle such tasks and become a great team member
I believe that my relevant skills in technology such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint would prove to be very important and necessary for this position. My qualifications include a self motivated attitude, working well within a group and being goal oriented. Being at Gonzaga University I have gained a lot of experience not only inside the classroom
