Strategic location

Mat Jon’s petrol is located at a very strategic area. That petrol station is nearby to the BPK Highway and Bintang Town which has three residential areas which are Taman Sinar, Taman Matahari and Taman Bulan. There were also a primary and secondary schools in the nearest and several row of shops. At the same time, the industrial areas are also nearby to Spetrol. A low cost air terminal also located few kilometers away where taxis from the terminal drop by the petrol station. the strategic location of the business enable for Mat Jon to interact many potential customer. It may come from students, industrial workers and walk-in customer from the nearby highways. This strategic location ensures that the business can run with profit. Though there are some competitions, the BPK highway which has high traffic volume will definitely ensure that customers come to the Spetrol.

Shortfall in physical balance of unleaded petrol

There were suspicious figures and balance stock in the report is far lower than actual balance that the company should based on the stock balance report. In the physical balance of unleaded petrol there was some shortfall. The daily pump sales of unleaded petrol in the stock in the stock balance report and the sales amount in station collection reports were appearing repeating figures that did not make sense, especially the figures of station collection in 21 and 27 July 2009 were totally same. Besides that, the figures were repeating in the same sequence that usually would not happen in sales transaction. In addition, the figures in the physical stock balance had been altered intentionally by someone to hide the real stock balance. Jamel who’s fully in charge in the petrol station should have to concern about the stock balance. Based on this, we can know that Jamel might have intentionally manipulated the figures in the stock balance report. In July 16, the received of petrol is not recorded in the physical stock balance, but the cheque was still paying on this date. The same situation happened in July 31, the cheque is still not paying out.
