Discuss the relationship between risk agents, the risk agency, and other organizational players. What roles do each of these groups play in the risk leadership event?
Risk agents who concern for the well-being of their unit and the organization as a whole are unsatisfied with the performance of their organization; in addition, they often carry good performance and qualities which enable their capacity to take the risks involved in challenging authority; however, an organizational structure sometimes is too strong to confront, so it’s necessary to form a coalition of revolutionaries named as a risk agency in order to play an active role in shaping and improving the future of organization; a risk agency operates from the premise of the power of many which must be recognized and reckoned with. Usually as a function of the particular issue of the moment, risk agents recruit other organizational players into the risk agency so that they could be more powerful; the recruitment of stable guard members provides significant power and protection for the risk agency since they are employees who are considered to be organizational lifers and are seen as critical to stability of the organization; moreover, they are extremely loyal and have deep knowledge of internal organizational processes. Next, the recruitment of influential players outside the organization would bring credibility and strength to the cause; furthermore, a few renegade top managers who usually have strong interest in a particular issue would empower the risk agency with crucial information, knowledge, access to resources, and therefore power.
