The Addam’s Family Play
On October the 23rd, I attended a theater play at the Miller Auditorium. The play was based on The Addam’s Family. This was my choice for the cultural and fine arts activity. I chose this because I knew that I needed to go to an activity for my cultural and fine arts activity so, last week I saw a flyer saying that they were going to be having a play based on The Adam’s Family. So I thought to myself this can be for my fine arts activity. So I attended the play and it was spectacular. I really thought that I was actually watching The Adam’s family cartoon.
I chose this activity because two years ago I went to see The Phantom of the Opera in Broadway in New York City and it just blew my mind on how great of a show it was. So I can relate both plays to my experiences. Not only that but, another reason why I chose to go to this event was because I knew it will entertain me. Not only because it will entertain me but its an art like a movie, a skit, or even a short film. You learn from them whether you know it or not. Maybe it’s something you never seen before. Like a certain type of dance or maybe you just never been to an opera or heard opera before. These are all types of things that someone may not or may of never knew.
I actually didn’t learn anything only because I’ve been to a play or theater show before. So my experiences were some what similar. There singing obviously and dancing but, there’s a story to it. I’m not sure if I this is beneficial but, I think it is because its an art and art is suppose to entertain the people watching or observing the art and or cultural. Like if you look at a painting you may think its interesting only because you as the observer have never seen such a painting. Therefore the art is amusing to you just like this play it was amusing to me. I was very entertained with the performance. So I can say that my cultural and art activity was a success and I wasn’t bored with it.
