Through extensive research regarding Nepal, information concerning its history, climate, natural resources, economy, health, community and culture was determined. This background information allowed the proposed design to be shaped and fine-tuned to create most beneficial solution to Sandhikhola’s housing problem. In addition, information regarding. Design options, which were best suited to improve Sandikhola’s current housing structure, were compared and analysed on many factors.
The final design solution to address Sandikhola’s weatherproof housing will successfully incorporate the environmental, economic and social dimensions of sustainability.
Include why final design is good like why materials selected was appropriate.
All the difficulties that are likely to be encountered during development have been closely considered. It can be established that many of these issues can be prevented through frequent communication with the community. However, for the problems that are unable to be prevented, EWB will warn Sandhikhola’s community of the possibilities.
The implemented training program, which will begin in August/July, will give the locals the ability to build and maintain the proposed house design.
An Australian company will be partnered with to achieve these results and overlook the development. In addition, the training program has beneficial effects to the local community and will hopefully give them the opportunity to unite and work together for a better future. The cultural awareness program will run for eight hours for few days before the employees from the company are sent to Sandikhola. This will ensure the employees will properly understand the community’s cultural beliefs and values.
Overall, all required design aspects have been successfully satisfied by the proposed designs. Sustainability was one of the main areas focused on during development of the design solution and has been properly incorporated into the project. In conclusion, if the people of Sandikhola are committed to learn from this development, they will be rewarded with a weatherproof housing that can be easily sustained by the locals - ultimately providing a better quality of life for all.
