  1. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The group aims:

  1. To know whether the proposed Healthy Choice: Hot Pot Cuisine restaurant in Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental is feasible or not.
  2. To forecast the potential customers of the said restaurant.
  3. To determine the market preference in terms of its location.  
  4. To identify the competitors and strength of competition.
  5. To examine the different aspects of the study such as technical aspect, management aspect, marketing aspect, legal aspect, socio-economic aspect, financial aspect, and environmental aspect.
  1. SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

The scope and limitation of the study will include the following factors:

  1. People residing in the city of Dumaguete were the respondents used in the study.
  2. The computed sample size which was only a percentage of the total population will be considered as the respondents in answering the survey questionnaires, which is the primary source of data of the study.
  1. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The study aims to determine as to whether putting up a Healthy Choices: Hot Pot Cuisine is feasible or not in the city, of which the data gathered can serve best in the interest of the proponent, people in the city and future researchers.

Proponent. By studying the aspects involve in the proposed business, the proponent will be able to identify the advantages and disadvantages in establishing the said entity. Furthermore, the data would provide findings that will be useful in understanding the market’s health before embarking on a new business to assess if this new venture would work and protect the proponent against potential losses before investing all the money, time and resources.

People of Dumaguete City. The data from this study could provide the people of Dumaguete City ideas about the health benefits that could be gain from this proposed restaurant and to experience a unique and healthy way of dining.

Future researchers. This study may serve as a reference for the future researchers whose research is very much related to the study.

  1. DESCRIPTION OF THE SOURCES OF DATA

The distributed survey questionnaires serve as the primary source of data used for the study. With the use of the computed sample size from the Slovin’s formula and random sampling technique, 399 questionnaires were being distributed at random to people aging from 16 and above in areas like Robinson’s Mall, the downtown area, and other crowded places in the city. The responses were then tallied and recorded one by one.
