Holden Case

Holden uses women as a form of therapy to escape his otherwise sad life. When he gets on the train to New York a woman in her 30’s sits next to him and he decides to “shoot the bull” a bit. You can tell one thing he truly enjoys screwing with women. For example he gives the lady a fake name and starts telling her how great of a kid her “biggest bastard that ever went to Pencey” son was. After that he went to a cheap hotel and went down to the night club to see if there was anything to do down there. He sat at the bar and noticed three girls he described as ugly but he went over and danced and tried to strike up a conversation. He needed some sort of attention to escape his loneliness so he puts himself out there to people he doesn’t think too fondly of, just like Ackley. Holden is kind of a secret lonely person.
