How do you troubleshoot business communication problem and also measure the effectiveness of communication.
Communication problem is a big problem in most of the organization. It is indeed the silent killers of most businesses. It usually involves identifying the signs of misunderstanding. So to avoid it, here are some of the most important points to remember:
- Sometimes incomplete information can lead to confusion. Paying full attention is very important. Misunderstanding can occur in every communication process so the right format must be chosen for communication. So one must analyse the communication patterns in an organization.
- Sometime cultural misunderstandings can cause communication problem. Diversity training sessions can prevent this problem by this employees can gain an appreciation of other countries and customs.
- Determine the fundamental communication problem in organization act as a neutral mediator and ask the employees about their problems. Interviewing the employees help in identifying the communication problems they are facing. Listen to each person’s version of what goes on in a company.
- Implementing long term plans is another way to address communication problems. For example if email communication, website notifications and written letters fails then create a promotional campaign including posters and leaflets to get the message across in a more suitable way to reach the intended audience.
- Roles and responsibilities of each employee must be clearly defined. Unclear roles and responsibilities create a big problem in communication in business.
