How to Write Case Study

The submission should include the following elements:

1. Cover Page.

This page should give the title of the report and the name of the author.

2. Executive summary.

The executive summary provides a concrete synthesis of the situation presented by the case study, also informs the reader   about the relationship between facts and theory. As well, it presents the recommendations and suggested course of action by the authors. This summary must not exceed 1 (one) page.

3. Main Body of report.

The main body of report encompasses all the pertinence analysis of the available literature in reference to the situation presented in the case study. Specifically, students must consider the following when developing their case studies:

  • Problem Identification (Problem Definition). This has to be done in terms of explanatory questions (Who, What, When, Why, etc). This leads to the development of the argumentative approach of the case study.
  • Data Collection (Measure). Students must gather all the facts and eliminate guess work and opinions.
  • Analysis of Facts. Students should conduct an analysis of the factual information provided in the case study.
  • Solution Development. Students should provide evidence of the validity of their analysis. To do this, students should explain how the data (quantitative or qualitative) provided in the case study relates to the literature reviewed.
  • Findings and Managerial Recommendations.  Students should provide recommendations and, if students considered so, alternate courses of action to the situation presented in the case study.

4. References

Students must provide complete list of references used for the production of the case study. NO WIKIPEDIA REFERENCES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Student should use APA citations style for references.

5. Appendices (if any).

Should include items such as, tables, charts, diagrams, financial analyses, etc. to support the content of the report. Students should ensure that any appendix(ces) is referenced in the body of the report.
