The sea's salty scent lingered the deck as we cruised at twenty knots through the Pacific Ocean towards Mexico. I was excited to be on such a vast ship with its' first encounter capturing my attention, and leaving me in awe. It was a beautiful piece of art with slides, pools, many rooms, and spas. I had never experienced such a moment in my life where I felt I was in an oasis of tranquility. Hearing nothing but the wakes clash against the steel while enjoying the breeze flow through my hair was my escape from reality. I knew from that day on the sea held a special place in my heart.
Something shook me but I ignored it because I was tired.
"Beau it's time to wake up! Let's go get breakfast."
The sound of my mother's voice was familiar but when I opened my eyes I realized I wasn't at home. I quickly got excited and bolted for the shower.
I walked myself to the breakfast buffet line because my mom and brother had already left, leaving a note stating they would wait in line for me. My senses tingled as I walked along the hot food bar. The essence of alluring bacon, succulent sausages, and aromatic pancakes easily actuated me into standing patiently behind everyone else.
"Let's dig in." my mom said.
Each bite was gratifying and simply hit the spot. I had a smile on my face and a full stomach; I felt as if I had pursued happiness and fully achieved it.
I decided to return to my room since I had nothing left to do but just as I was about to walk inside, I ran into a mini golf setup across the pool slides. There were two guys around my age standing by the green chatting.
"Hey I'm Beau, can I join you guys in a game?" I courteously asked.
"Sure! I'm Vinny and this is Ryan." Vinny
