- Briefly describe whether events in this case do or do not support resource dependence, collaborative network, population ecology, and institutional perspectives. Why or why not?
The events in this case do support resource dependence, collaborative network, and population ecology because they are no longer depending on their former reliable customers to maintain/grow their market share. Although Technologia is not dependent on AUD for business, AUD is still dependent on Technologia. They are both trying to be more competitive and use scarce resource more efficiently. Technologia is stronger than AUD as it has established more clients, and AUD cannot find many suppliers of those resources.
However, the events in this case do not support institutional perspectives as they are not cooperating to work better.
- Do you think Technologia and AUD can resolve the current issues without implementing VMI? Why or why not?
No, Technologia and AUD cannot resolve the current issues without implementing VMI because each organization is looking to benefit themselves only while the VMI will help both the organizations to benefit equally.
- Are these companies changing their attitudes toward dependence? If so how? If not how should they?
Yes, these companies are changing their attitude towards dependence. They are doing so by not relying on one another to be successful, or to gain a competitive an advantage, or to increase their market share as they have attracted more customers who are willing to play by their rules, and who need them more than they do.
