Vigan as described by the Local Government is the future address of your business endeavor because Vigan has carved the reputation of being the only UNESCO World Heritage City in the Philippines. Alongside with this, Vigan City is also a Galing Pook Awardee; the Cleanest, Greenest and Safest City in Region I; The Most Child Friendly Component City in the Philippines; A recipient of the Seal of Good Housekeeping for Transparency and Accountability in Governance; the National Winner: Gawad Pamana ng Lahi for Excellence in Local Governance; UNESCO Awardee for Best Practice in Sustainable Heritage Management; the National Winner: Excellence in Kalusugan Pangkalahatan for having the Best Performance in Achieving Systems-Based Approach in Local Health Reforms among component cities; and one of the New 7 Wonder Cities of the World where both private and public sectors work in synergy to establish a habitable heritage of choice. Truly, Vigan is where doing business is an advantage.
Currently, Vigan has 2,717 Business Establishments and 28 banks. In as much as telecommunication sector is concerned, Vigan has one land-based facility (PLDT-Digitel), 3 cellular telecom services, 4 internet providers, 69 internet cafes, 5 radio stations and 4 cable stations.
Vigan city capitalized also in medical facilities wherein 8 hospitals are being operated by private sector and 1 provincial hospital, 1 infirmary inside University of Northern Philippines and 1 City maternity Lying-in Clinic.
Tourism is the most obvious focus of the City and as a response, 58 hotels and inns are being operated within Metro-Vigan.
Vigan City government is currently prioritizing key investment areas such as tourism related ventures; innovative and pioneering businesses; traditional crafts and industries; export oriented businesses; and information and communication technology.
The Local Government also suggest investment options on health and wellness; nursing homes for the aged; house and real estate; and renewable energy.
