This article is about people who blew the whistle on unethical company practices for three different companies and what the outcomes are for each of these people.
Glenn Demott from Columbus Ohio and 5 others blew the whistle on corporate wrong doing against the world’s largest research-based pharmaceutical company, Pfizer Inc. According to Dermott, when questioned marketing practices in team meetings and with his manager, company officials became hostile. Dermott then turned to the FDA and FBI. It was then when agents learned about kickbacks to doctors and huge bonuses to sales reps. The largest healthcare fraud and criminal fine settlement in the United States came about because of marketing practices on unlawful drug promotions.
Dermott says he would speak up about unethical practices again, but would not do it internally.
Pfizer Inc has been in the lime light on more than once occasion, many actually. It pays billions of dollars out each year in unfair and unethical company practices.
Milan Georgeff also faced backlash when refusing to work on engineering blueprints he perceived to be stolen from Eaton Corp. He was an engineer for a company called Frisby Aerospace in NC. Georgeff found himself fighting 2 multibillion dollar corporations. He was fired when he approached management with the allegations that he drawings were stolen from Eaton Corp.
