Key issues that is causing the lag of the rechargeable battery industry

• Growth of electronic devices that utilizes non-battery source. (USB chargers, Bluetooth chargers, etc.)

• Consumers aware of the price of energy and trying to cut costs. (thus preferring energies that doesn’t require rechargeables)

• Consumers and companies are finding and using other ways to conserve and utilize energy. (battery consumptions are costly and is a physical burden)

• Tech companies working their own energy source and rechargeable materials.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths

• Profitable company considering fierce competition from Duracell, Energizer, and other top companies. (Sony, Samsung, etc.)

• Strong North American presence. (USA, Canada)

• Respectable research and development division.

• Has international presence.

Weaknesses

• Company is smaller than Duracell and Energizer. (difficult to grow)

• Rayovac batteries have weaker brand awareness than Duracell and Energizer.
