The nature of change in the 21st century is becoming a vast experience for everyone. The technological change has revolutionized how the work force communicates. It has changed how organizations communicate internal and external while still competing. With technology advancing, the workforce, and the influence of globalization, organizational structures, and employees’ professions are taking major twist. Scout Mortgage must change their course to compete in the mortgage industry. Technology has changed every facet of our existence. As technology changes, so does the method of communicating. This will persuade organizations to hire employees with the right skill-set. Some pundits will suggest since the evolution of technology effective communication has declined, because this method has removed direct contact with employees.

The usual reaction to change is normally positive or negative by an employee. It is rare that you see employees reacting positive to changes because of the fear of the unknown. Employees become perplexed about the job and what direction the organization is heading. Changes have a tendency to create anxiety for some employees while others are receptive. However, you have employees who welcome changes as they enjoy the thought of new ideas. Management would see positive reactions if they were to share the changes that are going to be made openly with all the employees that will be affected by the change. They must find their strongest supporter to assist with change and their greatest resister to create change through communication.

The factor of magnitude of consequences identified here is when they had to make a decision about firing the three most productive loan officers in order to save the company. This allowed Walsh and Mangels to change the tradition of paying loan officers commissions to keep the organization viable. This was a good choice because the company can stay competitive and not lose grounds with the new employees. The temporal immediacy factor played an enormous role I that it showed the time taken to see positive results, while allowing Walsh and Mangels to make other necessary changes within the organization. Overall Walsh and Mangels used ethical intensity to remain practical in the mortgage industry. They made the right decisions for the future of the organization.
