There are a multitude of pros and cons when it comes to the case of Chicken of the Sea International hiring Jessica Simpson as an official spokes person for the company. A pro of Chicken of the Sea hiring Jessica would be the fact of how extremely popular she was at the time of this case. A definite pro of the situation would be that Jessica Simpson was a rising pop star, and her music was being played on the radio as well as well as her music videos being played on television. With that being said, Jessica Simpson could bring a tremendous amount of exposure for Chicken of the Sea, if they chose to hire as a spokes person. This exposure would include a whole new market of people, such a young teens all over the country that follow her music. Along with Jessica Simpson being an extremely popular singer, she also had a television show. Jessica Simpson’s show on MTV was called Newlyweds. Millions of people all over the country watch MTV on daily basis, and probably have stumbled across the show. I in fact have seen the show myself, when it was airing on television. During the show in one of the episodes she was having a conversation with her husband, and asked her husband while eating a can of Chicken of the Sea Tuna whether the product inside the can was chicken, or tuna. This became a big deal for viewers because they thought it was quite funny, and many different media outlets began to cover this situation occurring on the show. This embarrassing moment for Jessica Simpson not only gained popularity for her, but also gained popularity for the show on MTV. This was in fact a pro because it was pretty much free promotion for the company because the Chicken of the Sea product was mentioned, and visible during the occurrence on the show. Chicken of the Sea could gain an advantage by capitalizing on the embarrassing moment from Jessica Simpson, and gain popularity along side with her.
