The first part of the coaching inventory I did not do because I felt that the questions referenced did not apply to my current situation. Currently, I am in a follower position so in terms of coaching individuals, these tasks have not been administered by myself because I have no one to administer them to.
The second part of the coaching inventory as a follower overall I scored mediocre to low on most parts. My highest value being a 19 rested in the Inspiring Commitment discipline. The problem I have here is that I do not believe based on my job’s direct responsibilities I would be able to grasp the full opportunity to exemplify these needed competencies. While I do recognize that I have shortcomings that need to be developed and reworked, I concur that if my environment was one that called for these actions, I would stand more of a chance to promote these actions and work harder to develop them. So in a nutshell, my role and responsibilities within my duties inhibit me to actively pursue and develop these competencies effectively.
