For the course project, Business Report: Exploration of how a Real-World Firm Applies Fundamental Business Concepts, students will explore how a real-world firm applies fundamental business concepts in their operations, enabling them to compete in today's global marketplace.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, each student will:

Describe the external environments in which a firm operates.

Identify a form of business ownership for a given company and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this type of ownership for the company.

Describe a company's global strategy and how the company is engaging in international business.

Discuss how a business is managed and organized and the challenges faced by the firm's management.

Describe a firm's target market and the marketing mix.

Discuss the effectiveness of a firm's practices for leading, managing, and motivating their employees.

Explain how an organization uses technology to develop and promote its products and services and to communicate with its stakeholders.

Describe how financial information on a given company is used to make investment decisions.
