Company Website Career Comparisons

I had decided to look at three corporations that are familar to all of us. I had looked at Mayo Clinic, Hy-Vee, and Sun Tan City. After looking at Sun Tan City’s page, I had felt as their strengths are easy to access their recruitment site, employee pictures at the top of the page, why you should join them listed second, apply for a job search engine was easy to use. The pictures made it seem like it’s a very fun company to work for, that cares about their employees. They had listed why you should join them very simply, in a bullet point format. They had listed six reasons why. The weaknesses of this site are there wasn’t a benefits tab that tells you about the benefits, the site is a little unprofessional looking, should list more about the company in general, and they should give facts backing the reasons on why the company is so great. The site is sectioned very simplistically and doesn’t space everything out as well as they should. There should be a summary on this site with an explaination of Sun Tan City and what they believe in. There should also be facts backing up why you should work here, like a video from employee’s or simply just a quote from a couple employees. Next, I looked at Hy-Vee’s recruitment site. They had a whole tab designated for careers that is sectioned off in areas such as, apply here, sustainablility, community, about Hy-Vee, and press room. The strengths that I had noticed about their recruitment site are the search engine is easily accessable considering it’s right at the top, the benefits are listed right after that section, there is a video suggesting why to work for Hy-Vee, and it specifically listed why Hy-Vee is a great place to work for. The site is very simple and it is sectioned off into each area. The benefits area give a good reason on how working for this company could help you. Also, there is a specific area on why you should work at Hy-Vee and a video from an employee saying why Hy-Vee is such a great place. This leads me into the weak that I had noticed, the section on why you should work at Hy-Vee should of been at the top. The video should play automatically, grabbing the attention of the potential employee. Lastly, I looked at Mayo Clinics recruitment site. The “find a job” tab is located right at the top of the page making it easy to access. The strengths that I had noticed for this company consist of several job fields that make it easy to narrow down your search, why you should work for Mayo Clinic is listed right at the top, with a video supporting the reasons why. There are articles from Fortune and DiversityInc suggesting why Mayo Clinic is such a great place to work. There is a specific section explaining how to apply. The why you should work for Mayo Clinic is listed at the top, along with the search engine and the video.
