Please explain that what relationship should municipal court have with the mayor and the city council? How to deal with conflicts which arise between these three branches of government?

Government has set up these three branches as separate. City council is legislative branch. They operate as local government and make laws. These created laws are enforced by judge. Mayor is not too much involved with judiciary part but they are into administrative works and in matters of staffing. Any conflict can be resolved by judge following the rules made by city council for such situation (FIRTH, 2013).

If you are given the responsibility to decide the order of court cases trail how will you spilt the time between court’s criminal calendar and civil calendar?

Court case trials take too long. Even one fourth of the cases are not solved on time. Cases keep open for years and years. Court handles many criminal as well as traffic cases every day and court has no input that how many cases are filed by police. I believe that if there could be a better process than it will be easy to bring cases on trial and it would have helped in smoother process and saving court’s as well as party’s time. District court is handling many cases in a day. Mostly civil cases we see so it will be a good idea that we court members should do something and try out a solution. Many people come to court with their problems everyday those cases can be solved in minimum time. If in criminal cases law requires appearance within 48 hours than appearance must occur. Court scheduling order must be created to get the conclusion of cases effectively and efficiently.

How would you ensure the best customer service in state court? Will you be offering online fee and fine payment options?

Best customer service starts with front office people. They deal with people most often. Not everyone knows the procedure and process of applying in court and other functions of court. So people hesitate in appearing for even their small-small works to court. They will probably delay or will pay more money as bribe to court’s front staff to make their work done. Well, I personally feel that it is our staff’s mistake that they don’t treat the customers well. They should be very co-operative in making them understand the process and procedure. Their assistance only can remove customer’s discomfort with court matters (FIRTH, 2013). Whatever questions which come from citizens must be assisted willing by front staff so that customer feels about it pleasant and helpful.

Then customer service centers in court room. We judges have to be very clear in expressing our opinion and we should help them understand the process willingly. We should be willing to give some scope to pro se party in the extent of law.
