Development of Water-resistant coatings for easier living

Introduction:

This report gives a brief description of our product which lead to the project being named “Development of Water resistant coatings for easier living”, at its incubation stage, and comprises of steps of further course of action of the complete process of Development of the final product to the market.

Below is the assignment of duties/roles for working on deliverables

As depicted in the above table, the responsibilities assigned to each group members are listed below

-Lijo R. John would develop the statement of purpose and identify the needs of customers for this new product.

-Vignesh Adhikesavan would work on developing the target specifications and retrieve the concept of the new product.

-Arunachalam & Risham Thaj would develop a preparatory process system for the new product.

-Harish Kumar would review the Final Concept, model of the product.

-Lijo R. John would schedule the activities for the further course of action for the development process of new product

-Gaurav Dhiman would prepare the video presentation of the new product concept.

Vision and Mission:

Vision of our organization is to create water resistant coatings for industrial and domestic purposes with improved mechanical properties.

Mission of our organization is to manufacture water resistant coatings through understanding the primary components influencing the key functionalities which contribute to optimum performance of the coatings.

Process used to identify our customers:

-Feedback from customers

        The customers for the new product would vary from multinational firms to small scale contractors. The feedback from them can be obtained by directly interviewing them and gaining their views. In case of small scale customers, stalls can be set up at retail stores so as to promote the product as well as receive their views with respect to the product category and what are they looking out for in the product. The feedback from the contractors could give us the feedback from the actual market as on which products are doing well in the market and their performance which would help us to benchmark the progress of our product performance.

-Feedback from the retailers;

        The feedback from the retailers should be taken so that information related to the moving products which are contemporary to the newly designed product. This will give us a note as on what the customers are actually looking out for.        

Applications:

This new product which is being developed can be used anywhere as a coating or in form of mixture during manufacturing. Some of the applications are highlighted below;

-Glass Manufacturing: the new product can be directly used during the manufacturing of glass by adding it with appropriate composition. This would help in overcoming many problems faced on daily basis, for instance, during the winter season, the most commonly faced problem is the glasses of the vehicles getting covered with dew and it affects the visibility to a large extent. With the new product developed, as the property of the product of not holding the water would remove the water from the glass surface and make it easy for using vehicles in seasons like heavy rains and extreme cold weather.
