Abstract

Ducks Unlimited is known as a world leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation. This image began during the Dust Bowl of 1937. The Dust Bowl caused a drought in North America that causing the waterfowl population to plunge to an all time low. There were a small group of sportsmen who decided to join together, forming the organization, Ducks Unlimited.

Ducks Unlimited developed their mission statement, which is to conserve, restore and mange wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats benefit waterfowl and other wildlife and people. Ducks Unlimited Leader in Wetlands Conservation vision statement is to maintain wetlands that are sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever.

During your work on the Keystone Conference you have been notified that your budget has been cut tremendously. The overall budget for the Project has been decreased from 1,200,000 million dollars to $280,000 and the project completion is to be within 21 months. The budget cut amounts to approximate .23333333% from the original budget. Therefore, the project scope had to be changed to coincide with the new project’s budget, meaning reallocation of resources and cost cut were made across the board. Conference attendance of two representatives from each state requirement will be cut to one representative per region for the East, West, North, South, and Central. There has been a reduction in the teams, resulting ten teams to five teams with four team members per team. Attendance was reduced, ensuring we stayed within our budget of $280,000, resulting in a successful, completed project.

Create a new WBS using the new budgeting parameters.

Ducks Unlimited Keystone Conference is being held in Charlottesville, NC in less than 21 months. The economy situation caused a budget reduction, which was not within the control of Ducks Unlimited. The operating budget suffered a 75% reduction from the original allocation, resulting in modifying the necessary changes to reflect.

We maintained the same amount of teams responsible for speakers, venue, marketing, and registration. The number of speakers and representatives attending the conference has been reduced. Ducks Unlimited will provide one regional representative and senior manager from each of the regions of Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, South, and Pacific as speakers at the conference. With those changes, the WBS did not change tremendously.
