Ducati is now owned by Audi, the Italian sport bike company is still more like the Ferrari of the motorcycle world. Starting with small-displacement bikes in the 1950s, the company has grown in range and sophistication ever since. Ducati competes in both World Superbike and MotoGP, and production sport bikes like the flagship 1199 Panigale R.
Based on financial results of last 4 years (2011-2014) Ducati’s sales and profit is growing year after year. Ducati closed 2012 with revenue of 606 million euros, an increase of 16 percent compared with 2011. The company delivered 44,102 motorcycles to customers in year 2012. Ducati broke records in terms of deliveries, production and profits. Ducati announced in January that unit sales in the U.S. increased 21 percent in 2012 compared with the year before. Sales now have increased for the past 30 months, and the U.S. is Ducati’s “primary-focus market.
Ducati announced a new annual sales record of 44,287 motorcycles sold in 2013, an increase over the previous year’s total of 44,102. Despite market uncertainties, especially in Southern Europe, Ducati has achieved positive results, confirming the strength of our products and the appreciation of our brand. For the second year running Ducati has achieved record results, selling over 44,000 motorcycles, helped also by the introduction of new models such as the Hypermotard and 899 Panigale.
