Online auctioneer eBay is technically a broker between merchants and customers, not a

retail outlet in its own right, but it is certainly in the e-Commerce retail business sector, where it

has one of the world’s best-known brands in electronic commerce business community. Last

year, it was taken for more than 100 million customer accounts, currently the largest known

appeal of credit card data from a single targeted victim. This one in many more incident

happened, and was tag as one of a very concrete example of e-Commerce business credibility

and communications breach that took place in the United States of America.

        Fighting back to gain e-Commerce credibility and credit card retail breaches. Electronic-Commerce retailers clearly have their work cut out for them in protecting their customers and themselves from payment credit card hacks. Three of the five largest attacks took place last year and this year, and that is just known attacks. Who knows, what consumer information in e-commerce industry has been stolen that is never been known.

        The switch to EMV (Euro pay, MasterCard and Visa) chip-and-PIN technology helps. Attacks against POS systems sought to steal payment card information in many of the breaches recorded, taking advantage of vulnerable terminals as well as the less secure magnetic stripe card payment system. Most countries around the world have moved away from that system in favor of the more secure EMV technology. The U.S. has dragged its heels in this transition, but as of October 2015, liability for payment card fraud shifted from the credit card issuers to retailers that accept payments made using the less secure magnetic stripe technology.
