Flat-Panel displays display market is very competitive on the present time. Companies like Dell, Lg, Sony, Samsung and Compaq are constantly fighting for market share. Samsung, Lg and Sony are the top three Flat- Panel displays manufacturers having over 40 % of the market share. In order, to be competitive in the Flat-Panel displays companies need to develop techniques to be more efficient, programs for best quality and learn from operation management.

When hiring people, it is important to look for teamwork skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team setting. Also, the operation manager should be a person with high-level skills dedicated to the production system and determining where operating improvements might be made. On the other hand, the manufacturing facility should be designed to incorporate flexible manufacturing technologies and use a just-in-time inventory system, in order to adapt to changing market conditions and customer demands. For example, when new components are out in the market for flat screen and they need to be replacing since technology is improving day by day.

The attempt to improve quality requires finding ways to measure quality, setting quality improvement goals, and soliciting input from employees concerning potential improvements in product design and the manufacturing process. From the operation manual there are lessons that could be learned. The goal for most start-ups is to break even and begin earning profits as soon as possible. Therefore, tha management needs to be concern of efficiency because is extremely important to lower production cost. Moreover, managers should be concern and careful of not promising a level of responsiveness to their customers that their company can not yet profitability sustain.
