HIMALAYAN ALLO UDHYOG

Himalayan Allo Udhyog is a nettle- fiber manufacturing company which is used as the major raw material in apparel industries. Mala Thapa Magar owns this company and is located at Narayanthan, Budhanilkantha. It was established in 2009. She is running this company single handedly and was commenced at rupees 2 lakh. Now, she has total assets worth 50 lakhs. Allo is brought from districts like Sindhupalchok, Bajura, Bajhang, Dang and processed in manufacturing plant in Kathmandu. She has 12 direct employees working for her.

Talking about Mala, she is one of the successful young women entrepreneur of Nepal. She realized the potential of Allo for apparel industry and started her own enterprise for manufacturing fabrics and threads which is nowadays highly demanded by domestic and foreign companies.

Growth plan for next 3 years:

She is collaborating with Korean company and plans to send thread to Korea, have them weave them into fabric, use that fabric to make readymade garments and sell it under Himalayan Allo brand. She has a mission of exporting her brands to foreign countries and capture a large market share in Nepal as a garment industry. She plans to bring the new equipment to her plant and produce in bulk amount along with higher quality standard feature and also wish to hire more employees.

She says, “It would be better if government come up with plans to support small entrepreneurs like me. Promoting entrepreneurship also helps in reducing brain drain problem that our country is facing right now. Most of our youth look for big slice all at once. Take baby steps, start small, work hard and you will definitely succeed.”

1. Rivalry among existing firms:

Rivalry refers to the competitive struggle for market share between firms in an industry. Extreme rivalry among established firms poses strong threat to profitability.
