I started my career as a software engineer at big consulting company where I used to put lot of emphasis on intelligence and good work and thought these two things mattered most in business or career. I never gave importance on how people and our interactions can have life changing experience. Enrolling in IPMX aligned my thought process and turned out to be both rewarding and expanding.

Firstly, my outlook and knowledge of global business and economies have completely changed. It has given me an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and learn about what really goes on in other parts of the world either through world renowned faculty or getting insights from top business leaders in Leadership Talk Series or Business Conclave.

Secondly, the exposure to a whole different set of backgrounds, lifestyles, and personalities is immense.  I never realized how narrow my horizon was until I started to meet all of my classmates who had different set of entrepreneurial experience, worked in finance, and travelled all over the world.  Alumni connect and many others whom I have interacted reminded me about how important a large and balanced network is. There have been instances that have changed the way I see the world and have further developed my knowledge in areas I previously knew very little about.

Lastly, IPMX has really changed my approach to my professional career. As someone who was fortunate enough to land a good job after graduate degree, now I am aware how competitive things can get and the importance of distinguishing myself from others. I have gained a lot of in-depth knowledge about various industries and it has always been reviving to learn from others who have worked extensively in fields that I once knew very little about.

I am sure I have learnt much more and there will be occasions in the future when what I have learnt will rejuvenate me for many years to come. Till then, it’s time to live in the moment and make sure I cater as much as possible from this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
