Coursework: REWARDS, REWARDS, REWARDS!
*What were the rewards that are getting so much attention? Why?
Based in our individual and group top ten rewards, the following are the most common among our list: Promotion, Monetary reward and Vacation trips and tours.
Our group believe that every employee is more motivated and driven to get a reward that will result to a better employment or a reward that is tangible that can be easily enjoyed after a hard work.
*As a manager, how can you improve the incentive effect of the rewards most frequently mentioned?
As a manager, it is necessary to make it clear with your subordinates that rewards is a company discretion and is/are not given at all times. Incentives are given after attaining a desirable work result and this is to motivate employees to do a better work, however absence of rewards should not mean that employees shall deliver less of what is expected from them.
Therefore, reward system is a great tool to be exploited by the managers to create a happy and positive work environment that will surely motivate employees to do better in their organizational functions.
*What is the future of organizational reward plans? Which of today’s compensation trends may probably thrive, and which are passing fads?
Our group believe that an organizational reward plans depends on the nature of the organization. Such as, if the business is more on sales, cash incentives and other tangible rewards shall work well in this industry, while businesses that are corporate by nature, where climbing the corporate ladder is essential, promotion and other self-development rewards will likely be effective.
